Mr. Afzal have been associated with the Broadcast Television industry since 1996 and have worked at International Teleports in Singapore, Thailand, India and Dubai for launching international TV channels. In 2013 I received the Arab State Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Broadcast Pro technical achiever of the year award for MENA region for my significant contribution and achievement in the Middle East region in the last 12 years towards shaping the broadcast industry.

Currently Mr. Afzal working as Head of technology planning and projects at Dubai Media INC Responsible for driving strategies, incubating new ideas, providing expertise and direction for applying new technologies to the business environment. This role plays a key and important role for putting down the strategy, roadmap, systems & procedures within DMI technology department for planning and execution of all broadcast projects.

Prior to moving to DMI, I worked with Arab Media Group as Director - Broadcast Operations and was responsible for building and leading the broadcast team that helped AMG to grow from its initial stage to a full-fledged tapeless television network that occupied a leading position within the television sector of the Middle East. Originally I moved to Dubai in 2005 with Zee Network as Vice President – Broadcast Services, I was entrusted the task of setting up Zee's Broadcast infrastructure in Dubai to launch and manage its new channels as well as support the existing channels for the MENA region. Before moving to Dubai, I was based out of Mumbai working for ETC networks ( part of Zee Network) from 1998 to 2005 as Technical Head where I had designed and managed their broadcast operations.
